JKLF condemns arrest spree, nocturnal raids Delegation reaches Shopian, meet bereaved families

Srinagar, Apr 03 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Tuesday said that killing and wounding Kashmiris with impunity and then unleashing crackdown against resistance camp to stop mourning and protests has been the main feature of PDP led ‘Indian rule’ in Kashmir.
According to the statement issued to KNS, the JKLF spokesman said that from last four days, bullets, pellets, nocturnal raids and arrests have become an order of the day that has actually exposed Indian democracy in Kashmir.
Despite heavy restrictions and oppression, JKLF delegation reaches Shopian and met with bereaved families of recent martyrs.
“From last many days police and forces have unleashed a reign of terror against resistance camp. Police on Monday morning arrested JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and shifted him to central jail Srinagar on a three day judicial remand,” the spokesman said.
He said that police yesterday raided JKLF office at Abi-Guzar and arrested Zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, he has been today shifted to central jail Srinagar.
Earlier, JKLF vice chairman, Showkat Ahmad Bakshi was also placed under house arrest from last Sunday.
“Today police shifted him to Bemina police station from where he has also been shifted to central jail Srinagar,” he said, adding that police has also arrested JKLF deputy chief organizer Siraj ud din Mir from his Tangmarg residence and he has been detained at Police station Kunzar.
“Police also raided the residence of JKLF zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal at Malabagh late last night. Police, SOG and CRPF at 1:30during night barged into the residence of Noor after jumping over the outer walls as if they were doing some military exercise and after forced entry into the house, threatened and intimidated his family,” he said.
While Strongly condemning this ongoing police oppression, JKLF Zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal said that police and forces first kill and wound Kashmiris with impunity and then to stop peaceful protest and mourning, start operations to arrest and intimidate resistance camp.
He said that from last four days 19 Kashmiris have been killed by bullets, shells, and pellets and more than three hundred have been injured most of them with pellets, but even these killings and oppression has not satisfied the conscience of PDP led Indian rulers in Kashmir as they have unleashed more terror against peaceful political activists, leaders and common citizens across the valley which is highly condemnable.
