Srinagar, Mar 12 (KNS): Hurriyat Conference (M) on Monday paid tributes to the three youth martyred in Hakoora area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district—Muhammad Eisa Fazili, Syed Owais Shafi and Sabzar Ahmed Sofi, stating that the priceless sacrifices of Kashmiri youth will always be safeguarded.
In a statement issued to KNS, the Hurriyat (M) spokesman said that Kashmiri people were still dealing with the shock of the Shopian killing by army firing, when three young and educated youth were killed in an encounter.
The spokesman asked how long will we the people of Kashmir be shouldering the coffins of our loved ones as the fact remains that it is the policy of extreme repression and suppression by New Delhi which is pushing the young and educate youth to pick up arms as a means of resistance to it.
The spokesman said that it is because of the lingering Kashmir dispute that the region is witnessing unending bloodbath everywhere.
He said that Kashmir dispute has to be addressed and resolved in its historical context either on the basis of right to self determination or through tripartite dialogue with the active involvement of all the stakeholders including Kashmiri people, who are the basic stakeholders of the dispute.
Hurriyat (M) said that delaying the issue would lead to more bloodbath in the region and nothingness else.
The spokesman further said that Kashmiri people are fighting for their basic right, right to self determination and offering the priceless sacrifice of life for the cause despite facing extreme repression, worst human rights violations and dictatorial approach of the ruling dispensation.
He said that international community cannot forgo it responsibly to mitigate the sufferings of people of Kashmir and has to play its role to impress upon GOI to engage with Pakistan and people of Kashmir for a sustained dialogue between them so that peace prevails in the south Asian region.
A Hurriyat delegation led by youth leader Mushtaq Sofi visited Soura to express sympathy with the bereaved family amid curbs, and participated in the funeral prayers of slain Eisa.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was yet again placed under illegal house detention at his Nigeen residence and the amalgam strongly condemned it and the detention of senior leader Mukhtar Ahmed Waza and shifting of another leader Engineer Hilal Ahmed War to Central Jail Srinagar terming the move highly undemocratic.
