Srinagar, Mar 12 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal were today arrested by police and incarcerated at police station Kothi Bagh, a spokesman said on Monday.
In a statement issued to KNS the spokesman said that “Police today early morning cordoned the residence of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and arrested him.”
JKLF zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal went to see him at police station Kothi Bagh where police arrested him too and lodged him alongwith Malik.
While strongly condemning these arrests, JKLF has said that Jammu Kashmir has been turned into a police state where to stop any protest or political activity leaders are arrested incarcerated, police as a whole are placed under custody by imposing curfew and restriction and not only this but education as also barred by shutting down schools and colleges .
“All this is being done by so-called rulers who shamelessly call themselves as democrats and civilized people,” said JKLF.
Prior to his arrest, Malik while speaking to media said that “India considers Jammu Kashmir as its colony and this is why it hands over the corpses of our loved one on daily basis, and by this spree of killings trays to enforce its illegal occupation on this land.”
He said that “on daily basis, our budding flower is trampled by Indian oppression, but international community levying to safeguard its business interests maintains a criminal silence.”
Malik said that “even today three of our loved ones have fallen to the bullets of Indians.”
Paying tributes to martyred youth Eisa Fazli, Syed Owais Shafi, Malik said that “Indian rulers and the local government first choked every space on peaceful protest and activates and hence pushed these budding flowers to the wall and now has engaged its thousands of terrorist in uniform to kill these young Kashmirs with impunity.”
While expressing condolences to the bereaved families of these martyrs, Malik prayed for their Sabr-i- Jamil.
Meanwhile, a JKLF delegation comprising of Zonal Organizer, Basher Ahmad Kashmiri and leader Zahoor Ahmad Butt reached Soura and participated in the funeral prayers of martyr Eisa Fazli leaders met with the bereaved family of martyrs and expressed solidarity with them.
Meanwhile, JKLF paid tributes to Fayaz Ahmad Dar and Mehraj ud din Usman who embraced martyrdom for the freedom of Jammu Kashmir.
While recalling the struggle and sacrifices of Fayaz Ahmad Dar and Usman, JKLF said that “these martyr’s sacrificed their today for the betterment of our tomorrow.”
Recalling the sacrifice of Dar who embraced martyrdom in 1990 and also the struggle and sacrifices of martyr Usman, JKLF said that both of these were real warriors whose sacrifices can never be forgotten.
JKLF said that a resistance movement that is nourished by sacred blood of such great martyr’s can’t be defeated by any power of the world.
